The truth of sourdough bread
Traditional breads from the store are filled with glyphosate, seed oils, and other harmful additives. Even if you try to buy "sourdough" bread from the store, MOST are still not true sourdough. The photo on the right shows the list of ingredients in store bought sourdough bread. Most stores use a small amount of starter and add other flavors to give it the "sour" taste. The rising of the bread is done with commercial yeast, meaning it has not even been fermented! Next time you see sourdough bread at the store, check the ingredients! If there is more than flour, water, and salt, it is not true sourdough.
My sourdough bread is as simple as it can get. It is made with 100% organic flour, sourdough starter (organic all-purpose flour and filtered water), Redmond's Real Sea Salt, and filtered water! Each loaf is fermented for approximately 24 hours before being baked. This helps to break down the gluten and phytic acid that is naturally present in wheat.
